If I stop my Electronic Bill Payments, is my membership canceled?

Your membership is not canceled when you instruct your bank or credit card company to stop Electronic Bill Payments to Bally.

Receiving a refund when you cancel your membership depends upon the type of agreement you have with Bally Total Fitness.

How you cancel your membership depends upon the type of agreement you have with Bally Total Fitness and the state in which you enrolled. Bally has two basic membership types which have different cancellation requirements:

  • Monthly Payment Memberships: You can cancel your monthly payment membership with 10 days written notice prior to your next payment due date, after following the cancellation requirements outlined in your membership agreement.
  • Value or Commitment Term Memberships: For term memberships you are not entitled to cancel and receive a refund except for specific events such as disability, military orders or death. There may be other events in which you would be entitled to cancel your membership and receive a pro-rated refund. Please refer to your agreement for further information.

For all membership types, we require you to send us a letter in writing, about your wish to cancel your membership. We recommend you take the following steps:

  • Review your membership agreement for your cancellation rights.
  • Start a draft of your cancellation letter.
  • Call the Member Support Center at 1-866-402-2559 to make sure your letter contains all the necessary and correct information.
  • Mail your completed letter (certified mail recommended) to: Bally Total Fitness, P.O. Box 96241, Washington, DC 20090-6241.

It will take approximately 10 days after your letter’s postmark date for your cancellation request to be processed.

There is a $10.00 replacement fee to mail or email a replacement copy of your membership. It can also take 2 to 3 weeks to pull your membership agreement from the archives and mail or email it to you.

 

Changing Your Name

I’ve changed my name and need to update my account information, as well as obtain a new membership ID card. What do I do?

So that we can verify your name change, we'll need you to send us a letter by certified mail with a copy of one of the following documents:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Divorce Papers
  • Court Order approving name change

We will process your request upon receipt. Your new Membership Key Card will be available at the club in 7-10 days of receipt of your order.

 

Downgrading Membership

I only work out at one club now. Do I have options to reduce my fees?

You may be eligible to reduce the type of access your membership currently provides. Give our Member Support Center a call to discuss your options to make your membership more affordable. Please call us at 866-402-2559 or send us an email using this form.

 

Freezing Membership

How do I freeze my membership?

In order to handle your request quickly and correctly, we ask that all membership freeze requests be processed through our Member Support Center.

How do I make the payment to freeze my membership?

Call the Member Support Center at 866-402-2559 to make your freeze payment by phone, using your credit card or debit card. Your payment will take 3 business days to post. Please note a $10.00 processing fee may be applied to your freeze membership payment made by phone.

 

Friends and Family Add-On

How do I set up a friend or family member with a membership?

As a member of Bally Total Fitness, you can set up your friend or family member with a membership at a competitive rate. Typically the payment must be made on the same credit card you use for making your membership payments. We will need the name, address and email address for the friend or family member you wish to set up.

You can make arrangements by contacting your club’s General Manager for a complimentary visit for your friend or family member to experience the great things that Bally has to offer. Or you can visit www.MyBally.com, contact the Member Support Center at 866-402-2559 or email by using this form.

 

Managing Your Account Online at MyBally.com

How do I set up a MyBally.com account?

Go to www.MyBally.com, and register. You will need your membership number, a valid email address, and a password to set up a MyBally account.

What can I do on MyBally.com?

MyBally.com makes it easier than ever to manage your account online and stay focused on what matters most: a healthier you. Once you register at MyBally.com you can:

What kind of information is stored in my account on MyBally.com?

Membership Card

I am a new member who purchased my membership online. Where do I have to pick up my membership card?

Your new Membership Key Card will be available at any Bally location within 7-10 days of receipt of your order. The cost of your card is included in the price of your membership. A photo ID will be required when picking up your membership card.

I lost my membership card. How do I replace my membership card?

There is generally a $10 fee for replacement Membership Key Card. ($15 in Northern California and New York clubs). You can order a replacement card today by:

  • Logging on to www.MyBally.com and filling out the Replacement Card form online.

  • Sending us an email using this form. Please select “Replace Membership Key Card” for your subject line.
  • Calling the Member Support Center at 866-402-2559 to order and pay for a new card by providing your credit card or checking account information to a representative.
  • Asking the front desk team at your club for assistance.

Your new Membership Key Card will be available at any Bally location 7 to 10 days after you place your order.

Why do I have to have my picture taken to access the club?

To protect your safety in the club, Bally keeps a photo on file for all members. When you enter the club and scan your card, your photo will pop up in the entrance control system and verify your identity for the club staff.

How long will it take to post a replacement membership card payment to my account?

Payments made online by credit card will be processed and posted to your account in 1-2 business days. Payments made with checking or savings accounts also will be processed and posted to your account in 1-2 business days. Your new Membership Key Card will be available at any Bally location 7 to 10 days after you place your order.

 

Relocation/Moving

I recently moved and am not sure if there is Bally Total Fitness club in my new location. How can I find out?

All of our clubs are listed on our website's club locator . Just enter your zip code and you will find the club nearest you.

I am relocating permanently to an area where there are no Bally Total Fitness clubs. How do I cancel my membership?

Laws regarding distance requirements from clubs and the associated cancellation fees vary by state. Please note a cancellation fee may apply.

If your membership agreement indicates that you can cancel your membership because of a move to a non-Bally location, you will need to write us and provide us with a copy of one of the following items as confirmation of your new address:

  • A utility bill in your name.
  • A bank or credit card statement in your name.
  • Your new driver's license.
  • Your new lease.
  • The postal forwarding mail sticker.
  • Your military orders which include location and report date.
  • A document verifying your campus address.
  • A copy of your one-way plane ticket out of the United States.

We recommend you then take the following steps:

  • Review your membership agreement for your cancellation rights
  • Start a draft of your cancellation letter
  • Call the Member Support Center at 1-866-402-2559 to make sure your letter contains all the necessary and correct information
  • Mail your completed letter (certified mail recommended) to: Bally Total Fitness, P.O. Box 96241, Washington, DC 20090-6241

Renewing Membership

How can I renew my membership?

There are four different ways you can renew your membership today:

  • Log onto your account on MyBally.com.
  • Call the automated renewal line at 800-638-1323.
  • Stop by the front desk of your local club.
  • Call the Member Support Center at 866-402-2559 to talk directly with a Member Support Representative.

It is important for you to renew your membership prior to the expiration date. After your expiration date, you will not have access to your club for workouts.

Memberships can be renewed for as little as one month or up to three years, depending on state regulations and what you wish to do.

What is my renewal amount and when is it due?

If you have paid off your financed membership fee, you can find your renewal amount by logging into www.MyBally.com. Or you can call Member Support Center’s automated renewal line at 866-638-1323. If you would like to speak with a Member Support Representative directly about your renewal amount and due date, please call 866-402-2559.

Why are my renewal dues increasing?

Bally Total Fitness is committed to improving the quality of our facilities and services for our members. In order to continue providing these important improvements for you, it is necessary to increase your monthly renewal dues in accordance with your membership agreement. Most agreements provide for periodic increases. You should refer to your membership agreement to determine which type of increase applies to you.

In many states, Bally Total Fitness is required by law to collect any applicable state and local sales tax on renewal dues.

Restart/Reactivate Membership

I used to be a member of Bally Total Fitness. How do I restart my membership?

We’re glad you are interested in returning to Bally!

Your new membership terms and prices are likely to be different from your original membership. You can check on your options to restart your membership by:

  • Calling the Member Support Center at 866-402-2559 to talk directly with a Member Support Representative.
  • Checking your account on MyBally.com.
  • Or calling the automated restart line at 866-638-1322.

You will need your 13-digit membership number to restart. If you have misplaced your account number, call the Member Support Center at 1-866-402-2559.

 

Transfer Membership

How can I transfer my membership to another person?

If you purchased a transferable membership (please check your membership agreement), you can transfer your membership to another person by completing a person-to-person transfer agreement and fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Email or call the Member Support Center to obtain the transfer form and transfer fee information.
  • Your membership fee is paid in full.
  • Your membership is a transferable type and has not been previously transferred.
  • Your membership dues or renewal dues are current.
  • You submit the appropriate transfer fee payment with the transfer form (a copy of the original member's valid driver's license must be submitted with the transfer form).

Upgrading Membership

How can I get access to more clubs than my current membership allows?
