Exercise can be fun way to get out and moving with friends or family members. You and your family members may not bee in the same physical shape, but you can still choose activities that are great for everyone. Here are a few suggestions:

  • WITH A PARTNER OR SPOUSE: If you don't yet share a common sport or fitness activity, find one! Take fitness lessons together, like rock climbing, swimming or tennis, rent mountain bikes, or join a local hiking group.
  • WITH PARENTS AND OLDER RELATIVES: You can't beat walking for an intergenerational activity.
  • WITH CHILDREN: Consider activities and facilities where everyone can have a shared experience yet also exercise at his or her own level. For example, with children who can swim on their own, you can go to a pool, spending some of the time swimming together and some of the time swimming separately.
