Squats and Breathing
One of the most important tips for great squat exercises is a basic one: Breathe! As you begin your decent, inhale slowly through your nose. As you rise, blow out through your mouth in a steady stream.
The reason breathing is so important for squatting -- as well as other exercises that involve weights -- is that your muscles need oxygen. By properly infusing your body with clean air, you're actually helping your body build healthy muscle tissue.
