Safe Weight Lifting
When moving or carrying weights or dumbbells, it's important to concentrate as carefully as you do during the exercises themselves. Injuries can occur at any time, not just when you are working out. Here are few common-sense tips:
- Use both hands when lifting weight plates and placing them on the bar.
- Bend your elbows and your knees when lifting or lowering plates or dumbbells from the floor. Do not use your back, you could strain it.
- At the end of your set, put the weight down slowly and gently. (Don't drop it.)
