You can revel in the summer cookout experience, without indulging in the summer calorie-fest that happens every weekend at those awesome BBQ's. Here are some ways to keep fat and calories in check while still having a fun summer:

BURGERS. Try turkey, buffalo or veggie burgers and stick with reduced fat or skim cheese. And pile on the healthy condiments -- lettuce, onions, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, pickles -- you won't miss the taste of beef.

SALADS. No more high-cal, high carb potato or macaroni salads. If you have to have it, just have a tiny spoonful of each, but try to stick with the fruit salad instead.

SIDES. Potato chips are so last summer. This summer is all about the pickles. You can have all the carrot sticks and celery sticks you want. Celery, when eaten plain and raw, actually takes more calories to chew and swallow than it contributes to your body.

DRINKS. Stick with low-cal drinks. They hydrate you more efficiently without the calories. Try Crystal Light Lemonade, Ice Tea, etc, or some simple ice water with lemon or lime.
