Drink A Snack of Green Tea
There are few drinks as refreshing as iced tea. For a healthful, new twist on this old favorite, make your iced tea GREEN. Here's why:
- Green tea boasts more polyphenols than black tea (and herbal teas contain none). Polyphenols help lower cholesterol and protect against cancer. They also have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Green tea contains less caffeine than black tea. On hot summer days, you may want to be extra careful about your caffeine intake; consuming too much can prevent your body from staying properly hydrated. (Note that decaffeinated green tea still provides the health benefits mentioned above.)
