Parents use this trick with their toddlers all the time: To limit the amount of sugar the little ones get, parents dilute fruit juice with water. If you're trying to limit calories, you can try the same tactic with yourself.

Instead of grabbing a 12-ounce bottle of orange, grapefruit, cranberry or other fruit juice, mix 4 ounces of juice with 8 ounces of seltzer water. You'll still have a refreshing drink -- but you could be saving about 150 calories.

Of course, many fruit juices contain vitamins and other key nutrients. If you decide to reduce your fruit-juice intake, be sure you're getting essential vitamins from other food sources and/or supplements.
